End of season camp - Barcelona 19-22 October

We are heading to Barcelona again for an end of season treat. There will be plenty of cycling in the fantastic terrain surrounding the city, as well as food and culture. We will be staying comfortably near the city center with restaurants, shopping and sightseeing opportunities nearby.

Book now to secure your spot or send us a not if you have any questions (hans@bikelicious.cc or via our Facebook page). Any Scandinavian language or English is fine :-)

Friday 19th – Monday 22nd of October 2018
  • Four days, three nights
  • Four guided rides with spectacular scenery
  • Suitable for all levels - we will adjust as needed and no one will be left behind alone
  • Pre and post ride coffee at high end coffee shops in Barcelona
  • Casual urban evening ride – a unique sightseeing experience
  • 4 star hotel with pool, restaurant and bar
  • Breakfast included
  • Energy gels and bars provided for free
  • Transfer to and from airport
  • 6950,- kr (Norwegian) per person in a single room (flights not included)

On Friday morning you will arrive at Barcelona Airport (tickets booked at your own expense), were we will pick you up. After transfer to the hotel, we assemble our bikes and have lunch just around the corner from the hotel before we check in to our rooms. We get dressed and head out riding. You will get the first impressions of some of the spectacular roads the area has to offer and a great view of Barcelona when climbing Forat del Vent. In the evening, you are welcome to join us for dinner at one of the several great local restaurants or you can choose to spend some time at your own leisure.

Saturday morning after breakfast the coffee lovers meet up (dressed for riding) and head down town to Satan’s Coffee Corner for a pre ride coffee courtesy of Bikelicious. After picking up the rest of the group by the hotel, we head out for a full day on the bike. The highlight of the day will be the ride through Espai Natural de Sant Miquel del Fai and climbing Petit Tourmalet, with an outstanding view of the canyons. Lunch in Sant Feilu Codines and coffe stops on demand.

Saturday night we go out to another one of the local restaurants for some great local food.

Sunday morning we will try and make an early start and make it through the city and head south towards the Sigtes area with the Rat Penat climb as the greatest challenge of the day. A 4 km climb with average grade of 10%! (Don't worry - there will be other options for those who prefer).

We will be back at the hotel in time to relax by the pool, before we meet up again and head out for our Casual City Night Ride that will take us around Barcelona to some of the biggest attractions of the city including Sagrada Familia, La Rambla and La Padrera. The ride ends at the hotel, where we will drop the bike, and you have the opportunity to join us for dinner.

Monday we will have an early start right after breakfast and head out for a 3-4 hour ride that will take us up to El Tibidabo church - probably one of the best views of Barcelona and definitely worth the hard work at the climb up there. Before returning to the hotel, we will stop at Nømad Coffee – Roasters’ Home nearby for one final freshly brewed coffee. After returning to the hotel, we will pack our bikes, shower, and have lunch before we check out and head for the airport.

Please be assured that we care for each rider and no one will be left behind when out riding. Every morning we will evaluate the form of the day for each, and make any necessary adjustments to the difficulty level of the planned route. With our local guides, we are always able to split into smaller groups during the day. Changes may be made to the planned routes described above. Any changes we make before arrival in Barcelona will be communicated to all participants in advance.

We will be staying at Hotel SB Icaria – a 4-star hotel with pool, gym (if you really feel you need it) and a good restaurant and bar. It is located slightly outside the city center of Barcelona, and only few minutes walking from the beach. It is perfectly situated for cyclists looking to be heading easily out of town for training rides.

Adria Sabaté from our local partner – Pedal Bike Rental – will be our chief guide when out riding. If you don’t want to bother with the hassle of bringing your own bike on the flight Pedal Bike Rental has Focus Cayo carbon frames with full Ultegra for rent. Just let us know and we will organize that for you.
